TORONTO – FRANKFURT

Ahhhh...at last we write to you with news of our arrival in Frankfurt! After a delay cost us a few hours back in Toronto, we finally made our way onto the plane for our lengthy flight to Germany.

There were many "are-we-there-yets", a bundle of "how-much-longers", and not a whole lot of sleeping on that flight! With a quick stretch and a change from pants to shorts, we grabbed our luggage and loaded the impressive set of double-decker buses that awaited us outside the airport. Watch our video to see how it all played out, and check out the photo slideshow to see how we kept entertained...spoiler alert, it was the black echo sculpture in Pearson International Airport! Students quickly discovered that the reverb within the structure made it perfect for singing to yourself as if you were using a microphone (ye...there is video evidence of this). While in the air, it was quick neat to fly over the UK, see the English channel, and then see the beautiful skyline of Frankfurt. Once on the busses and on the Autobahn, we entertained ourselves by watching for all of the Ausfahrt signs (which means "Exit" in German), and turning our heads quickly as the speed-limitless Mercedez, BMWs, and Ferraris whizzed by at what seemed like close to 200km/hr!

Next stop...Heidelberg!
